Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday will always leave you thinking. The phrase “thought-provoking” comes across time and time again when you watch this series. It makes you think – without a doubt you can scan your entire life in the matter of a 60 minute segment.
[ side not:: If you get a chance to dvr the episode with Nate Berkus, jump on it. What he has been through and how he chose to deal with it all is admirable. I had no idea the story behind this amazing designer. I have always loved his work, now I love him even more. ]
I am a thinker. Digging deeper than the exterior of the situation – scoop up matter that you really do not want to see. Face the facts, and figure it all out kind of girl.
The truth is though, that digging too deep can cause more trouble than just waiting.
Giving things time is key.
Listen, my life has been blessed. I have gone through many of things – many of tests, that looking back I would think would have broken me down, or at least shaped me for the worse, not the better. But after the sun set, I chose happiness.
I knew that through the ugliest of times – that the best was yet to come. Now, just because I made it through those difficult times does not mean that I had dealt with those times. Which is the hardest part of all. Revisiting moments you’d like to forget –
I have always been taught to deal with things. Thinking back, I always found reasons and excuses in believing why things happened the way they did. When, in fact, I should let time pass and let the clock do the talking.
Because nothing will explain the past better than the future.
Each day will bring up particular moments, making you connect and understand why. It will help you to come to a place where you see how things went wrong, or how things were made right.
I have learned over time that you must live your life in order to make sense of many things.
To stop digging for the explanation. For the reason is often found through living through those very same experiences, and seeing how you chose to follow them through.
