I wish I was expert in hundreds of areas. I’ll admit I’m a pretty good mom, who puts her whole heart into it, even when it gets hard. I’d say I was good at school, kind of, it never came that easy. I can fix your hair and make you feel like a million bucks, but sometimes I am stumped. With each area I find strength in, there are always weaknesses.
There is though, ONE thing I know I can honestly say I deserve some kind of badge for.
Make it a girl scout badge, a laminated yellow star with a pin, or a bumper sticker — I do not care.
Mine would read “Bargain Shopping Bad A$$ B!+@%”
I need to be in a Target commercial, with the kids by my side, all three of us in leather jackets pushing the cart through the automatic stores, hair blowing, popping gum and the boys rubbing their hands. Ya feel me?
I can rock a clearance aisle so good it hurts. Really. It pains me to go more than a few days without purchasing an item for an astounding amount off. Ask Dan – he has seen it for over 11 years.
In highschool, it started with clothes, and notebooks, makeup.
Early twenties to now (soon to be 29) my passion for items on sale has reached a level I am so proud of.
From home decor, to cereal bowls I feel absolutely euphoric when I snag an item for 50-70% off.
Here are a few of my latest and greatest finds that I am absolutely loving lately!
By the way – not every single one of these items were clearance. I’ll mention when and why some items are worth getting straight away!
Let’s get this party started! Seriously, I’m glowing. OhJoy! Pitcher, retailed for $25 – I snagged this little lady for under $10!
The wooden tray it is resting upon, $7! And those hydrangea, while not on sale, do not get me started. I am aching to transplant these beauties into the ground. I want to live in a house surrounded by these blooms!
Let us take things into the bedroom really quickly! The middle wood frame picture I got for less than $8. The two white ones beside it were a Home Goods find for $16 a piece (full price, just an amazing deal!) I have some fun ideas for the art work that is to be going inside of these pieces that I am excited to share with you all!
A newbie to be hung in our master are these curtains. Another Home Goods find – a pair of these for $29 a pack was far to good to pass up! Like $15 dollars a panel! Dan shook his head as I tucked them under my arm and would not let go of them as I walked straight to the register like a toddler with a toy.
Feast your eyes on that clock! Large and in charge that ticker was purchased for $14!! Yes – over $45 clock. I kicked the kids out of the cart and made them walk to fit that guy in. Ha. The two metallic vases were $8 a piece! And the darling empty wooden distressed picture frame was $5! See the new sliding door? It was framed out – so we are figuring of when/what to paint it.
This amazing Nate Berkus woven decorative bin was $11 on sale!
Want me to keep going? Okay, if you insist!
Fire place guard, $11! (originally $40) Sea Glass vase $8! That shade of blue combined with the dark blue … Oooo come to mama. Wooden frame $7! Art work inside is simply printed words by me, your one and only. The bright blue vase was an estate sale find – $5. And the large white vase with polka dots is from Ikea, I would like to say it was $15. It used to be filled to the brim with wine corks until our families started questioning our wine habits. 🙂
Oh, the reality picture. This is what happens when I take 5 minutes to walk around the house and snap a few pictures for this post. Ignore the millions of toy pieces and feast your eyes on that white and blue pillow. Can you even handle it?! This fluffy friend of mine was NOT on sale, but I purchased two, because I was a good girl and walked by them 10x over ( literally, 10 different visits) before I caved in. I think I deserve them as a reward for holding myself back.
I have a ton more things to show you guys. I know it is not as interesting as a huge project going on – but these past few months we are putting the cash flow towards other things. Want to see more of my clearance/favorite finds? Leave me a comment, I’d love to chat, or go shopping with you, whichever you prefer!
xoxo abby
