This is a sponsored post with Ryobi Outdoor Power Tools.  A huge thank you to Ryobi for helping us tackle our jungle outside! 🙂
When an entire new group of outdoor power tools show up at your door step you count your lucky stars they did! It literally felt like Christmas morning for Dan and I, you guys. Â I cannot begin to thank the team at Ryobi that helped us gather up the courage to tackle some of our most overgrown and neglected areas outside.
Not an area outside bothered me more than this side of our house.  We have a gorgeous brick chimney that was hiding behind a jungle of weeds and trees.  Homeowners always worry about the front of their house, and often neglect the sides.  Figuring they are not seen as well from the front of the house, well, let me tell you, they are seen, and when it looks like this, it’s sight for sore eyes!
It’s a tough area to judge with your property line, obviously we know where our line lies, but if the land right next to it looks like hell, well, you want to clear it ALL out. Â Best advice I can give, if you want to clean the entire area up, just ask. Â Most neighbors will say yes because you are saving them tons and tons of time!
We had SUPER sloppy plumbing just scrambled at the side of the house, so Dan went to town digging new lines and finally they are all underground and organized to drain properly!
See ?! Ha…. The pipe that drains, well, there.
Now we have plumbing that is not only hidden, but is functional and will save our grounds from getting too soggy near our foundation.
Dan went to town on this area with his new Ryobi tools, and in no time at all, we were left with a fresh blank slate to figure out the next step of landscaping!
Ryobi was OH So generous and sent us a ton of goodies to play around with …
I love being able to see our chimney now, brick always makes me a happy lady.
Once everything was cleared out, Dan and his buddy decided to build a retaining wall that stretched around the front and corners of our house.
This retaining wall was a piece we’ve been wanting to add for a while now, and it just goes to show, start small – tackle your projects piece by piece. Â Clearing out the weeds and overgrown yuck is essential to starting landscaping that will stand the test of time.
We still have to fill behind the retaining walls, but I adore the dimension it adds to the front of our house!
Now, around the bend we are left we cleared land. Â We’ve gone back and forth on what we should place here – to hopefully add color and complete the project. Â Whether it be fresh soil, and grass seed. Â Or nice annuals that will stay green year round? What do you think?
I have to mention what fun I have had with these tools as well, you guys. Â The lawn mower is so light and easy to use, I dare to call it FUN to use! Even my neighbor asked how it was so quiet, it is an impressive piece!
Without those Ryobi tools we would still be staring at the side of our house, covered in weeds and dying shrubs – feeling like it was too much to tackle with our bare hands. Â A few hours and some amazing outdoor power tools and we were able to accomplish exactly what we set out for!
A big thank you again to Ryobi! An amazing company, with impressive tools that help us tackle our everyday projects!
