I have SO much to share with you guys this week – but really wanted to get this post out to you first. With out blog rapidly growing, I wanted to take this step quickly!
Well well well. Bloggers around know that looking at your stats is never a “good thing”. It’s easy to get discouraged and get down when no one is looking at your posts. Or you get far to hyped when a post has gone viral and you feel like a million bucks only for the next week or so to not see the numbers rise again.
Funny thing is, I have never chased numbers. While I do pray that one day this blog leads me to other roads, I am fully aware that this popularity contest in blog land is out of control. Our blog has grown organically over the years – I do not do things strategically to grow quickly… honestly, I believe either readers will like me or they will not. Of course always hoping you do 🙂
With that said, I peaked – and still peak daily at our numbers. Just out of curiousity. Which posts seem to grab the attention of you guys, or touch your hearts, or make ya laugh. It’s easy to see what you truly enjoy seeing from me.
Seeing my numbers rise and rise over the past year I am awfully curious as to who the heck is reading this little slice of my life? Then I had the brilliant idea that we should do some introductions here. I’d like to share a bit more about myself, odd facts about me – some things you may already know if you have read this blog for a while. And what I’d like in return is if you would leave a comment on this post (at the bottom of this post) and introduce yourself – nothing too personal – Your first name – where you are from – what your favorite thing to read about here is and how you stumbled across The Thome Home.
Fun right?
I’d like to get to know you guys more too, so this would be a fantastic place to start!
So that’s me ^^ Abby Thome
Taking this picture was SO awkward – like the senior pictures I never took because I was too embarrassed to capture the phase I went through when I died my hair black. Yes – a natural blonde going to the dark side – it was a mistake lets just say that.
I am addicted to Starbucks – and I have tried to quite many times. Habit started when I worked there part time in Columbus, Ohio. My drink? Oh baby – Iced Venti Soy Unsweetened Green Tea Latte with 2 scoops Matcha. Now thats a mouthful!
I’ve got a goofy personality, hyper and playful. Sometimes a sailors mouth and always a dirty pun to throw your way. I’m not proud of it – but hey, it’s who I am.
I am a former hair stylist- now turned stay at home mom + blogger.
The few moments I get alone in the car you can find me singing at the top of my lungs to the most random array of music there ever was.
Once in a blue moon I cave into one of my most delicious cravings. A warm brown sugar cinnamon pop tart smeared with peanut butter. Consider yourself warned – it is unbeatable.
I had my first son (Brody) out of wedlock (gasp!) Thee best gift Dan and I could have ever been surprised with.
I have anxiety – you may never guess it from my out going personality.
I will wait weeks for a particular item to go on clearance – and live off of the high for years when I snag it.
I use 4 items for makeup. Powder. Bronzer. Eyeliner + Mascara. Makeup for myself intimidates me – but I can always do it on others and make them look like a million bucks.
I dream of one day being a writer – whether it be in articles for magazines or to write a book.
You can read a little more ABOUT US <<
Okay guys – now that you know a little bit more about me, introduce yourself!
Can’t wait to get to know you all better!
