I feel ya, sick of all of this baby talk? Is he coming today, am I going to pop??
Well, the truth is – the end is near, and until then patience is all I’ve got to hang onto.
SO.
I wanted to switch it up a bit and get my train tracks onto something different. Looking through our archives, and snagging a few of my favorite before and afters from both of our houses and wanted to share them with you all. There are definite things I miss this pregnancy, wine, sushi… but really, most of all is being able to get my hands extra dirty and do more projects.
I cannot wait to get my hands on some of the rooms in our house – we have so many exciting projects for the rest of the calendar year and I am 100% positive Dan will be thrilled to have his buddy back to help tackle to jobs.
At our first house, we had a total dungeon basement. The classic “this is where you do your laundry and run back up the stairs scared” kind of basement.
It was a doozy of a project, the concrete floors were torn out, plumbing replaced, new floor poured — you can imagine. A disaster of a space that turned into a room we miss SO much.
The boys always mention how much they miss that basement, and we totally agree. It was the best baby-proof cozy place to let them play all day long.
At our new house we had a literal rush of projects to get done just to make this house clean and livable. Everything where it stands now is great, but the only rooms we know that do not need changed are the boys bedrooms. That’s it. Every single inch of our current house isn’t quite where we want it to be, so 2016 will be a doozy opening up the can of worms again.
BUT. This kitchen, I mean come on. I’d say it’s come a long way —
The only thing I like in this picture is that rack of wine in the corner. Come. To. Mama.
Adding custom shelving, and painting the cabinets + countertops transformed this space more than we could have ever hoped for. Sure, we’d do anything for a brand new kitchen, but for now, we love where it stands and keeps us on our toes with thinking about our “dream kitchen”
We are in the middle of a huge back + front yard renovation right now. We are awaiting the crew to come next week, weather permitting, and I cannot wait to reveal how far the outside has come for our house. With our new privacy fence and all of the trees gone, our lot feels so crisp and ready to become whatever we desire.
It feels like yesterday we pulled up to this beauty and decided to call her our home.
So glad we took the dip into this money pit. All name calling aside, with as much work as we have had to put into this house so far – we can honestly say it is 100% worth it.
Feeling inspired? Any spaces in your home you are aching to get your hands on?
Hope you guys all have an amazing weekend – we are super excited to meet our newest addition and can’t wait to share him with you all!
xoxo, abby
