I have been blogging since 2011 – My content is constantly evolving and I am so very fortunate you guys check into this slice of our life on a daily basis.
With 2015 just hours away- I wanted to add a few new sections to our blog! I’m brainstorming like crazy over here, trying to figure out what would fit best for you guys + what would keep me inspired to write, keeping things fresh!
I thought it would be SO fun to have you guys write to me – asking whatever questions you would like to know from me! I will round up -X- amount of questions and answer them in a video for you all –
I want this to become on of the newer things on The Thome Home – frequent videos, touching base, answering questions, home tours, recipes etc. I want to connect more – hear more from you guys on what you would like to see!

Sally Jessy Carcar videos!? I know exactly where those videos are!! They are priceless!

Hi Abby! So, the hubs and I are going to get started on our little bundle’s nursery. We’ve decided to take on the entire upstairs by sanding and staining the hardwood floors, and painting everything. Our hardwood floors currently have a less than desirable yellowish cast to them. Here are my questions… 1. Which order does this need to be done? Sand first, prime walls first? 2. I like a darker stain, but hear it fades faster than lighter stain. Any tricks to making dark stain last? 3. What can we use to make the floors look shiny, yet not slippery? (I may or may not have Pledged the floor once, making the surface like an ice skating rink. Even the cat fell once…that I know of. Lol.)

Abby! Love your blog! You inspire me to actually finish our house someday. We bought our house almost 3 years ago and well…we haven’t even come close to completing the endless list of projects we “thought” we would complete shortly after moving into our home. My question is how do your prioritize or determine what rooms/projects you complete? My husband and I are in the boat of well we want to do every room and space!

1. I love your blog! Thanks for sharing your creativity. It inspires me and makes me want to own a home so badly! I redid our living room in our home we rent, but nothing else because of lack of time and the fact that we won’t be here for many more years. Hopefully. So when we do own, I will be hitting you up!

3. As for my question-
I feel like I could never walk into the house you bought (pre all of your amazing makeovers) and seen potential. I don’t know if I could look past ugly tile and countertops and carpet and cat pee and everything haha. What about your house really drew you in? Also, would you have bought such a fixer upper if Dan wasn’t so handy? Is this something you would have tackled on your own?

Hi Abby, my question is are you ever going back to doing hair you are amazing at it !!!! Second is not a question I guess but I love reading your blog and love seeing what you are doing with your house and keep posting lots of pics of your adorable boys.
